Connecting a Custom Domain to Roo

Time to Complete: 7 minutes

Connect a custom domain to your Roo account to create branded short links for your business. This allows you to use your own domain for shortened URLs, which helps increase brand recognition and trust with your audience.

Key Learnings

Prerequisites

1. Add Your Custom Domain in Roo

From your Roo dashboard, click your profile icon in the top-right corner and select Settings. In the left-hand menu, click the Custom Domains tab, then click "Add Domain to get started".

Enter the subdomain you want to use (e.g., "go.yourbrand.com") and click Next. Roo will generate the DNS records you need.

2. Configure DNS Records in cPanel

Navigate to your domain's cPanel and open the Zone Editor. Copy the Name and Value of each CNAME record from Roo and add them in cPanel.

Note: Hosting providers may format CNAME names differently. Some may require you to remove the domain part or the trailing dot from the name.

3. Verify Your Domain in Roo

Return to Roo and click Verify. Your domain will show "Verification Pending" until DNS propagation completes. You'll receive an email confirmation once verified.

Note: DNS propagation can sometimes take up to 24 hours.

4. Use Your Custom Domain in Make.com

In your Make.com scenario, open the Roo "Create URL" module settings. Select your verified custom domain from the Domain dropdown. Run the scenario to generate branded short links.
